Hi there! I’m Nicole J. Owens, a debut author and lifelong reader with an unshakable love for words and the kind of characters that take up permanent residence in your heart. Ever since I was old enough to hold a pencil, I’ve been crafting tales. My first “novels” were handwritten on printer paper, lovingly stapled together, and sold to my Nana for 99 cents a copy. While those early masterpieces may be lost to time, the dream behind them has only grown stronger.

Fast forward to today, I’m thrilled to have brought that dream to life with my debt novel–a dark romance laced with secrets, suspense, and just the right amount of spice, called BENEATH YOUR LIES. This is a story I poured my heart into, and I am thrilled that readers have dove into the twists, turns, and the emotional depths waiting inside. 

Born and raised in North Carolina, I’m lucky enough to do life with the most patient and supportive husband and father. Our house is also busy with a little boy who is hilarious and full of giggles and two dogs–Benny, a  big-hearted (and even larger sized) Bernedoodle and Ruby, a spunky Miniature Cockapoo who rules the house and everyone in it. 

When I’m not writing or revising, you can find me chasing adventures—whether that means getting lost in the mountains, exploring a new city, or dreaming up plot twists while sipping a glass of Malbec. I believe in the power of storytelling to move us, challenge us, and remind us we’re never alone.
